In a statement on Facebook, Pennsbury School District told parents that police had "investigated a concerning social media post made by a PHS student" during the night. They did not describe the posts in question.
Admins said police had spoken with the student and did not believe there was any "any cause for concern." Still, students encountered an increased police presence on Friday "as a precautionary measure," the district said.
"As always, we are grateful for our partnerships with our local police departments," Superintendent Thomas A. Smith wrote. "We truly appreciate their swift action in this case and their efforts to ensure our students and staff are safe."
It's the second time in recent memory a student's alleged online conduct has prompted school officials to make a statement to parents.
In December, Principal Reggie Meadows warned families of an anonymous Instagram account bullying students and posting their photos without permission.
